How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne
The Associate Cybersecurity Analyst works across Technology Platforms and Engineering team particularly the Infrastructure Services and Cloud Services and Network teams to assist with the development and implementation of a comprehensive cyber security program and ensure that security practice is embedded.
Taking technical direction from the Cybersecurity Specialist, the Associate Cybersecurity Analyst supports a broad range of tasks, including the day-to-day administration of information security tools and devices, initial triaging and includes responsibilities for the security administration of a wide variety of IT systems.
Selection Criteria
All CoM employees will demonstrate an ability to articulate and demonstrate benefits of positive culture and City of Melbourne’s iCare values – Integrity, Courage, Accountability, Respect and Excellence
  • Qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related Cyber Security degree or similar relative experience
  • Industry qualifications such as Comptia Security+, CEH, OSCP, CREST Certifications - preferred
  • Knowledge of information security principles, including threat and vulnerability management, incident response, and identity and access management.
  • Knowledge of security-related systems and applications, such as Security Information & Event Management systems (SIEM), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Enterprise Firewalls & IDS/IPS, Email & Web Content Filtering, Multifactor Authentication, Identity & Access Management, Networking and VPN solutions
The Associate Cybersecurity Analyst will also possess;
  • Knowledge of IT systems such as Windows Desktop. Windows & Linux servers.
  • Strong documentation writing and reviewing skills.
  • Some knowledge of scripting languages.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively.
