Associate Lecturer in Surveying and Spatial Sciences

Your New Role

We are seeking to appoint an Associate Lecturer in Surveying and Spatial Sciences, with the primary responsibilities of this role relating to teaching and assessing laboratory and field-based practicals, managing specialist equipment, software and data, and providing technical support for research. Applications are particularly invited from individuals with a strong technical background in surveying and spatial sciences and with a desire to apply and convey their knowledge in a university setting.

The role is within School of Geography, Planning, and Spatial Sciences where we build on and advance the University's strategic pursuit of academic and applied multi-disciplinarity, encompassing and integrating human geography, physical geography, spatial sciences, planning and environmental management.

The School's Surveying and Spatial Sciences group is the top-ranked Geomatic Engineering research group in Australia and makes substantial contributions to ecology, physical geography, geophysics and oceanography research. We teach undergraduate and postgraduate surveying and spatial sciences units, majors and courses and supervise research higher degree students.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Your ability to successfully engage with a variety of internal, external and collaborative stakeholders will lead to successful outcomes in this role. A three-year tertiary qualification in surveying and spatial sciences with experience in University-level teaching and/or relevant professional experience in the field of surveying and spatial sciences will be highly regarded.
