About the role
We currently have a full-time, open term opportunity for a Portfolio Analyst to join QIC’s State Investments Portfolio Operations team in Brisbane.
The role is responsible for liaising with a wide range of stakeholders to coordinate the preparation of bespoke client reporting presentations and to track key projects and timeframes. Coupled with this, the Portfolio Analyst will also contribute to analysing the wider market to inform key internal stakeholders on what is driving client returns, sources of returns, and market trends.

Role accountabilities also include (but are not limited to):
- Contribute to the investment strategy process in order to develop tailored solutions for clients.
- Support the operationalisation of investment initiatives with a focus on execution excellence and risk management.
- Assist with market and mandate monitoring including data analysis and financial modelling.
- Provide and deliver market and economic updates to undertake portfolio analytics pertaining to risk and performance outcomes.
- Preparation of client reports and presentations.
- Oversight of external investment managers including manager due diligence and post-investment manager monitoring with a strong focus on risk management.
- Work with strategists to develop investment mandates with a multi-asset focus.
- Liaising with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to achieve required outcomes.
About you
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working within a related field with a positive attitude, and exemplary stakeholder management skills. You will also have:
- Tertiary qualifications in economics, finance, commerce, business, or another relevant field.
- An understanding of investments and investment structures.
- Strong interest in and academic exposure to international economics, financial markets and the drivers of publicly traded markets (bonds, equities, currencies) at both the macro and micro level.
- Experience with Microsoft office, preferably with intermediate Excel skills.
- A detailed understanding of portfolio analytics and data management.
- A high degree of stakeholder management and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet multiple deadlines.
