Lead and open our new General Medical Unit
Professional career development opportunities
Located in Box Hill, close to public transport links

Be part of the leadership team opening Epworth Eastern’s General Medical Unit as an ANUM, at the start of its journey, growing the department into its purpose-built facility within the new East Wing tower.

About Epworth Eastern General Medical

An exciting new chapter for Eastern Epworth opening a standalone ward to deliver additional beds, to accommodate the expanded theatres and consulting rooms. Our redeveloped site delivers a positive, meaningful and sustainable impact on the health and well-being of our community, delivering much needed health care services and facilities in Melbourne’s east.

This new 21 bed multi-disciplinary unit uses an integrated team approach to ensure a high quality of patient care for acute and chronic medical patients across a range of specialties. Supported by 24-hour medical emergency assistance from Epworth Eastern's Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

At Epworth, our General Medicine teams play a vital role in the well-being of thousands of patients who may be suffering from debilitating or distressing conditions. A wide range of acute and chronic medical problems are treated with advanced care, technology and services by multidisciplinary teams.

You will make an impact by:
Being part of a new Leadership Team committed to delivering an exceptional patient, family and staff experience while achieving high-quality clinical outcomes
Leading the team through positive role modelling, capabiity building and professional development
Working with multidisciplinary and specialised teams to plan the care and treatment for patients
Coordinating and effectively managing the medical unit and services after hours
Maintaining and promoting patient safety through early intervention and escalation of care

To be successful in this role

In addition, you will have:
2-3 years leadership experience in a general medical nursing environment
Ability to make autonomous operational business decisions
Passion about employee coaching and development
Well-developed and effective cross-department relationship management skill

The role is ideal for a dedicated nursing staff member who is looking to progress their career journey in management and looking to be part of Epworth Eastern’s exciting journey of growth.

At Epworth, it’s a community.

It’s the sense of belonging and being part of an organisation and a team that works to make sure that every patient matters. In addition to this, you will have access to the following benefits:
