Job description
This is rare leadership role to the market that will see you join a national engineering consultancy that has built a solid reputation in SA. This business specialises in projects across the mixed-use, multi-residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, and retail sectors to the value of $120M. In the past 5 years, the team has grown from 3 people and one office to now 25 staff and an additional interstate office. As they continue to grow and secure projects here in Adelaide, they are looking to engage an Associate Structural Engineer to join their leadership team, deliver results and be a part of the strategic growth plan of the business. In this senior role, you will become an integral part of the business that values fostering long-term relationships with their clients, stakeholders, and their people.
The role
Reporting to the Director of the company, this position will see you playing a key role in the development of a leading engineering consultancy. working across a broad range of projects, you will lead a team of structural engineers and drafters to produce design and documentation that is to the highest possible standard. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Actively be part of the leadership team, contributing to management conversations and strategic growth of the consultancy
Lead a number of projects independently, with the assistance of other engineering resources
Be a technical mentor and contribute to the development of junior staff
Play a senior and active role in developing and managing industry relationships
Attend all design and site meetings
Oversee your team across both structural and civil design and documentation
The ideal candidate
The successful candidate will have the relevant tertiary qualifications, with ideally 7+ years’ experience working in the local industry. Experience leading a team and managing projects is essential, along with excellent communication skills. Working knowledge of relevant software is necessary to be considered. As this is a leadership role you will have the ability to effectively build rapport and relationships with clients and stakeholders as well as mentoring junior structural engineers.
