Job description

Clifford Chance is one of the world's pre-eminent law firms, with significant depth and range of resources across five continents. As a fully integrated global partnership, we pride ourselves on our approachable, collegial and team-based way of working which combines the Firm's global standards with in-depth local expertise.

Corporate and M&A

Our Corporate and M&A practice is one of the most respected in the world and has a client base that includes many of the world's leading companies including more than half of the Global Fortune 500 and many of Australia and Asia Pacific's most innovative and successful companies. We are seeking two full-time Paralegals to join our energy and resources team for a three-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidates will be responsible for conducting due diligence, drafting changes to documents, putting together schedules for documents, responding to requests for further information and potentially preparing some 'first-cut drafts' for the team.

The successful candidates will display the following:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills
  • The ability to work both independently and within a team dynamic
  • Extensive research skills

Equal Opportunities

At Clifford Chance we understand that our true asset is our people. We believe that each and every one of us should experience an equality of opportunity and an equality of experience here. We are always working to develop and deliver the best and most innovative approaches to make that happen. Inclusion is good for our team and their families, our firm and society.

We are therefore committed to treating all employees and job applicants fairly and equally regardless of their gender, gender identity and expression, marital or civil partnership status, race, colour, national or ethnic origin, social or economic background, disability, religious belief, sexual orientation, or age. This applies to recruitment and selection, terms and conditions of employment including pay, promotion, training, transfer and every other aspect of employment.

The firm will regularly review its procedures and selection criteria to ensure that individuals are selected, promoted and otherwise treated according to their relevant individual abilities and merits.

We have a number of initiatives and networks that support our aspiration to be the Global Law Firm of choice. These include our LGBT, Gender Parity, Ethnicity and Disability networks.

Agencies

Where possible, Clifford Chance endeavours to recruit for vacancies directly. Where agencies are required, we operate within a preferred suppliers list – as such, only agencies who have been directed to source candidates will be invited to submit an application. In accordance with Clifford Chance policy, all candidates must be uploaded directly on to our applicant tracking system as per the instructions provided by the relevant HR contact. Candidates submitted outside of this system will not be considered.
