Job tasks and responsibilities
About the role
We are seeking a self-motivated and highly skilled Electrical Installer or Auto Electrical Technician.
Duties & responsibilities
- Install and repair components, AM/FM/UHF radios, refrigeration systems, air-conditioning systems, lighting systems, electronic braking systems, starting and charging systems, door and mirror motor systems, wiper and washer motor systems, central locking systems, engine immobiliser and security systems, auxiliary circuits and systems.
- Ensure all accessories requested on repair orders are fitted and completed
- Identify and advise of any additional work required
- Diagnose and complete repairs and adjustments using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) computer diagnostic programs and circuit wiring diagrams
- Produce clear and concise reports detailing all work carried out on repair orders including supplies used and recommendations in a prioritised order
Must also be able to
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical and Hydraulic faults on a variety of different ON ROAD, Civil and Mining Earthmoving Fleets
- Complete thorough Servicing
- Complete roadworthy inspections
- Complete component change outs
- Complete component Repair or Rebuilds
- Completion of all required paperwork to a high standard and by due time
Skills & Experience
- Auto Electrical Trade Certificate essential
- 12/24v electrical installation experience
- Commitment to safety
- Customer focus
- Diagnostic skills
- Experience in Heavy Vehicle industry
- Ability to work unsupervised and within a dynamic team coupled with good presentation and communication skills
- Driver’s License
- Current HR driver's licence would be an advantage
- Mobile Plant Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Trade certificate or:
- On-Road heavy Vehicle Mechanical Trade Certificate
- 'Do it once, do it right' attitude
- On-Road truck experience
- Strong focus on safety
- Basic computing skills.
- Experience with Tech tool, ET, Insight, jaltest and Gscan equipment
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Motivated and hard working with a professional attitude
- Company and customer focused
- Minimum unrestricted HR class driver's license, HR or willingness to acquire within 3 months
- High Risk forklift license or willingness to acquire within 3 months
- A/C ticket, Work at heights, Dogging or rigging ticket holders desirable
