As our new Avocado Orchard Mapping Coordinator, you will be collecting spatial planting data from avocado growers and logging it onto a mapping tool. You will be responsible for reaching out to avocado growers via phone, email, and other channels to gather accurate information about their orchards. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential, as you'll be ensuring that the data collected is accurate and complete.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage with avocado growers via phone, email, and other communication channels to collect data about their orchards.
Utilize mapping tools (Esri ArcGIS), to accurately map and label Avocado Orchards based on the data collected.
Ensure that all data collected is accurate, complete, and properly documented.
Collaborate with team members to coordinate data collection efforts and ensure timely completion of tasks.
Maintain absolute confidentiality of grower records
The skills you’d need to succeed:
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Persuasive but courteous communication style.
Comfortable engaging with people over the phone and via email.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Basic computer skills, familiarity with i.e. Google maps.
Ability to work independently and efficiently.
Previous experience in customer service, GIS tools, data collection, or agriculture is an advantage.
