About the opportunity
You will be working for a well-known Global insurance provider in Sydney, who are renowned for their SAAS products and services within risk management and work within the Insurance Consulting and Technology team.
They are currently going through an exciting time of transformation as they work on improving the delivery of value for customers and the business.
You will create, deliver and manage business-critical services that are used 24×7 by their clients and colleagues around the world.
As part of a focused global Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) team, you will be playing a key role in delivering, operating and maintaining their growing suite of SaaS (Software as a Service) solutions.
The SRE team are setting the standards for operability and observability, working closely with our global development and operational teams. The team ensure that the services we deliver to our clients meet their growing expectations.
Responsibilities
Proactive monitoring of production and other environments to ensure stability, availability, security and integrity
In collaboration with other Technical Delivery teams work to ease or eliminate manual or repetitive tasks, reducing or remove bottlenecks and inefficiencies in our services
Contribute to the design, build and operational management of reliable, secure, and available services operating 24x7
Involved in planning and deployment of new services and versions into production
Providing Engineering level on-call support
Conducting blameless post-incident reviews, and helping to implement technical solutions to mitigate reoccurrence.
Technical Skills
Solid experience in Site Reliability Engineering or a similar type of role
Experience in running 24x7 services in a public cloud, ideally Azure
Strong experience with monitoring/observability solutions as well as with incident response solutions
Sound automation expertise, and hands-on with some programming languages, e.g., PowerShell, Azure CLI or Python
Good knowledge of networking and cloud security
Highly Desirable Skills
Experience with Docker & Kubernetes, including managed platforms such as AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service)
Knowledgeable in setting and measuring KPIs, SLOs and SLIs
Familiar with working with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Pulumi or Terraform
Accustomed with working with Azure DevOps pipelines or similar
