BRIDJ is aiming to revolutionise organised fleet, shuttle and bus transport. We have built a one-stop SaaS operating system to support fleet and bus operators of all sizes. This includes sophisticated optimisation engines, automated work process tools and data intelligence systems. Our primary target sectors are Public, School, Event & Corporate Transportation.
BRIDJ technology is currently deployed on public transport services in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide and staff transfer services in Singapore. We were also the Official Provider of the Fleet Operations and Asset Management system for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
This role will have a lot of variety but will be primarily responsible for leadership in the delivery of our scalable Backend platform. The key areas of responsibility will be:
? Lead an experienced team of software engineers by providing leadership, guidance and enabling your team to shine and deliver to their full potential;
? Drive the execution and delivery for the Platform and Products by collaborating with other teams;
? Help to lead change in seeking out continuous improvements and champion the adoption of best practices;
? Accountable for maintaining a high standard of product quality and code health;
? Work with Engineering leaders to proactively manage projects and deliverables and provide communications and updates to ensure cross-functional alignment of upcoming changes;
? Provide leadership, mentorship, education to team members as well as others in current development best practices and approaches;
? Be hands-on to build the code frameworks, and perform refactoring and R&D;
? Continue recruiting and hiring to further build out the team to support continued growth.
We are looking for a candidate with strong technical capability but a love for good product and process. You will need to be an effective communicator and be able to collaborate with other teams. Your role is to work alongside and motivate your team to get the most out of them and their work. You will help to define, prioritise, and manage the delivery of our systems. You should be responsible for your own workstream and its outcomes.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
We value a team with a variety of backgrounds and skill sets. For this specific role, we are looking for someone with recent experience working with Ruby on Rails. Experience working with PostGIS and applications in an AWS environment is a bonus, but not a prerequisite. As this is a leadership role, it is expected that you have extensive experience in commercial technology development. Candidates that bring a variety of good experience and additional relevant experience in other sectors will be viewed favourably.
SKILLS REQUIRED
You may really enjoy this role if you have experience or just a keen interest in transportation or logistics, working with the following key skills:
? Strong interpersonal skills including a strong ability to communicate and influence effectively across the most senior levels of the organisation;
? Superior analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills and excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills including report writing and presentation skills with emphasis on developing quality technical specifications;
? Attention to detail and excellent reporting capabilities;
? Delivery technologies and CDNs and CI/CD pipelines;
? Good knowledge of cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS);
? Good understanding of Agile methodologies;
? Knowledge of security driven development;
? Knowledge of testing frameworks and tools.

We move quickly, and expect that you will too. We are small and agile and we have a progressive approach. We support a level of flexible work but believe in close collaboration and a strong team environment.
You'll get a computer and peripherals, and we'll expect you to be up and running in a couple of days, contributing to our production systems and changing transit forever.
