Located on the upper north shore of Sydney our club is an active bowling and recreation club with big plans to increase our hospitality and social activities. We are looking for a Bar Manager to help us achieve these objectives, and there is the opportunity for the right person to develop further.
Our clubhouse is a modern open plan venue overlooking our greens with lounge and restaurant areas. We are a popular venue for our restaurant, weekly trivia, live music nights, etc. and we host many private functions.
The Role
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic customer focused person to join our team as a hands-on manager of the bar and other operations of our club. The duties will include but is not limited to the following.
- Proactively leading the bar team operations and service.
- Manage bar staff including ensuring high level of customer service, rosters and training.
- Work at the bar and assist with functions.
- Grow our patronage by focusing on customer service and recommending new ideas and initiatives.
- Recommend, introduce, and manage club promotions.
- Bar stock control and purchasing.
- Cellar management and beer system maintenance.
- Cash balancing.
As the club grows, we envisage the incumbent will expand the role into other aspects of club management.
Applicants must have:
- An energetic professional approach to all activities with a commitment to a high level of customer service including an attention to detail and a can-do attitude.
- Certified RSA and RCG.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience leading and managing a team and being a team player in a club, pub, or hospitality environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and be part of a team.
- Experience with stock control, purchasing procedures, cash control, POS system and gaming management systems.
- An advantage would be a proven experience in successful hospitality promotions and events.
- Availability to work nights, Saturdays and occasionally on Sundays.
