About the role
Hayman Island Village is home to our dedicated team of colleagues who permanently live and work on the island. As part of our world class staff facilities, the staff bar is a welcoming place for our team to meet friends on nights off, enjoy celebrations and partake in an array of social offerings such as trivia, karaoke & live music. As the Bar Manager for the Hayman Island Village, you will have a unique opportunity to paint your own vision on a blank canvas. You will actively drive revenue and patronage in the bar and play an integral part in our current renovation, giving you the opportunity to print your own stamp on the venue; from cocktail menus, drink selections, beers on tap and al a carte food offering – you will have the freedom to influence and let your creativity shine! Reporting into the Village Operations Manager, you will be fully supported to help realise your ambitions in creating a highly polished F&B outlet for our colleagues.
You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Bar operation including:
- Ordering, stocktake and rostering.
- Marketing and organising social events.
- Ensure RSA compliance is always executed.
- Quality control over all food and beverage offerings.
- Recruitment, training and coaching of staff.
The right candidate will have their finger on the zeitgeist for what is trending in the bar scene, catering for a young crowd of hospitality professionals. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, demonstrate their problem-solving and leadership ability and be a creative and innovative thinker. This is a great opportunity for cross training and development for anyone looking to further their career as an outlet manager or F&B manager in the Hotel/Hospitality sector, and create a fun and entertaining venue that will excite, delight and surprise.
