About the Role*

  • Perth or Darwin based location
  • Rotational roster: Singapore to Perth and/or Darwin Australia for the pre-ops phase and Offshore Barossa for the operations phase

Santos is looking to appoint an Operations Team Leader for the Barossa FPSO Operations. This position will initially be completing a rotational roster from Perth / Darwin with a long-term intent to relocate the position to Darwin NT on an Offshore Rotation Roster.

Reporting to the Offshore Installation Manager, the Operations Team Leader is responsible for the implementation and delivery of offshore FPSO operations through influencing and collaboration with operational and cross-disciplinary teams to ensure achievement of the company’s business strategy, values and Santos Safety Management System.

Accountabilities are delivered in line with the Santos company values and Santos Management System (SMS). Key responsibilities of the role include: *

  • Development and delivery of standards, objectives and plans in relation to FPSO.
  • Provide oversight of FPSO contractors Pre-Operations deliverables including operational readiness, design, delivery & commissioning.
  • Oversight of execution of the asset plans production and maintenance of an integrated Santos & Contractor operation to ensure compliance with Santos requirements.
  • Ensure production targets are met whilst complying with set operating parameters.
  • Lead and integrate Santos Emergency Response Teams with Contractor response team.
  • Monitor compliance with safety case accountabilities for the Barossa project including Santos and contractor obligations.
  • Mitigate risk to personnel or the environment through proactive team management and processes.
  • Ensure production targets are met whilst complying with set operating parameters
  • Participates in incident investigations.
  • Lead Sub-Sea campaigns and Well Interventions offshore.
  • Actively seek opportunities for continuous improvement and initiatives to drive efficiencies
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with standards for EHS performance and behaviour with the Company’s environmental, and health & safety vision, policies and standards.
  • Champion change and foster performance cultures to achieve desired culture outcomes and engaged team members

About You

  • Degree in Engineering and/or relevant technical qualification or equivalent experience with extensive experience in a senior Supervisory role within Oil and Gas major projects.
  • Demonstratable FPSO operations and contractor management experience.
  • Experience in Subsea, Production, Maintenance, Marine and Operation Management systems.
  • Possess or able to obtain a MSIC (Maritime Security Identification Card).
  • Demonstrated effective time management, communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in influencing and collaborating with cross functional teams including contractors to achieve business outcomes.
  • Resilient, flexible and adaptable approach in meeting business demands.
  • Able to relocate when required to meet Barossa and business requirements.
