- Assist in the maintenance, fabrication and upgrading of fixed and mobile storage tanks.
- Work on a variety of different sites in the Perth Metro area for tier 1 mining companies.
- Monday to Friday, 6am starts and around 50 hours of work per week.
Responsibilities:
Working on mobile and storage tanks/vessels, you will be:
- Cut and/or join metal material in order to fabricate or repair equipment.
- Carry out MIG / TIG / Stick welding, free hand oxy cutting, pressing, grinding, maintenance and fabrication duties.
- Design and fabricate parts using specifications or drawings.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work area.
- Contribute to operational efficiency and waste reduction efforts.
- Help train and develop new team members.
- Attend safety meetings as required.
- Other duties as needed.
- Workshop is conveniently located in Welshpool with site work in and around the Perth Metro area.
- Casual full-time basis for the first 1000 hours and then the opportunity to move to permanent.
- $55 per hour flat rate + superannuation.
- 6am starts Monday to Friday with 8 to 10 hour shifts depending on workload.
- Must be Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Full 'C' Class Driver's License.
- High Risk LF desirable.
- Must have at least a Certificate III in Fabrication/Welding or equivalent.
- Minimum 4 years experience with MIG, Stick and TIG welding.
- Experience in the use of various types of equipment and tools common to the welding and fabrication trades (e.g. MIG welder, TIG welder, oxyacetylene torch, arc welder, plasma cutter, saw, drill press, grinders, etc.).
- Capable of reading and interpreting mechanical drawings.
- Effective organisational and time management skills to prioritise work and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with a high degree of motivation, energy, initiative and commitment, with the capacity to deal with multiple and often conflicting priorities.
