Broiler Farm Service Person

Baiada are seeking to fill the position of Broiler Farm Service Person at our SA farms.

Key responsibilities: (but not limited to):

Prompt and correct decisions regarding the Broiler farming operation are made as and when required, in conjunction with the Broiler Farmer / Farm Manager
Work within Company guidelines
Demonstrates a commitment to continual improvement
Maintain a close working relationship with any co-workers
Liaise with Farmer / Farm Manager on matters affecting bird health, growth and quality Ensure all livestock are cared for with adequate feed, water, temperature and health monitoring to attain maximum potential
Monitor bird health and performance, ensuring an ongoing flow of data from farms to the Livestock Office is completed on a required basis Conduct and or participate in Audits
Monitor and follow up on Corrective Action Requests (CAR's) raised in all types of Audits
Bird weighing/feeding and all ancillary farm operations are carried out in accordance with the Company documented procedures and instructions
Live bird Predictions - Ensuring weekly bird weights are conducted and assessing Live Bird Weights before Pickup
Deliver required batch documentation and chemical supplies to Farms in the time frames required
Company assets, bio-security and security are maintained
Supervise and train new Farmers / Farm Managers in broiler production and farm practice when necessary to do so, and to document such training
Ensure all Farm documentation / records are maintained and current ensuring all Company Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety Policies are in place and are adhered to.
Clean out is completed to Company standards
Attend Livestock Meetings as per requirement

Essential skills:

Previous experience in livestock management
Current drivers license (to drive tractor, company car where applicable)
Ability to read, write and communicate in English
Must be permanent resident of Australia or Australian citizen and / or legally entitled to work in Australia)
Extensive experience in animal husbandry, particularly with livestock poultry with a sound commitment to the welfare of the stock
Excellent communicator.
Excellent leadership skills including conflict resolution and problem solving
Knowledge of the relevant Workplace Agreement for the site and applicable levels and rates of pay (for Company Farms only)
A knowledge of Quality Systems, WHSE procedures and good understanding of how day to day activities could impact on the Animal Welfare, Biosecurity and Environment

The salary offered will be $55,000 to $68,000 depending on experience; a company vehicle will be provided to the successful candidate.
