A Brisbane-based government agency is looking for a new Agile Business Analyst to join it's team.
As an Agile Business Analyst, you will bring a wealth of experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams, including project managers, developers, testers, product owners, other business analysts, Subject Matter Experts, and partner/vendor staff. Your strong customer focus and innovative mindset will enable you to deliver effective business value through the application of agile practices, principles, and lean thinking.
Your excellent communication and stakeholder management skills will enable you to liaise effectively with business stakeholders and advocate passionately for your assigned projects. You will also be flexible in your approach to work and willing to undertake related tasks to facilitate successful adoption of change in the respective business areas.
Ideally, you will have experience delivering solutions on Case/Workflow Management platforms, with direct experience on the Appian platform being particularly desirable.
Key responsibilities
- To gather business requirements, you will engage stakeholders through workshops, presentations, and individual meetings. You will then document these requirements using Agile techniques in the user story format. Working closely with technical resources, such as developers, solution architects, and testers from our partner Vendors, you will assess the business impacts of implementation options and compromises.
- Participating in product backlog refinement, you will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to clarify and elaborate on user story details and define business-driven acceptance criteria to assist with development and testing. You will also participate in other Agile ceremonies, such as Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Retrospective, Sprint Review, Daily Stand-up, Release Planning, and support UAT sessions as required.
- You will contribute to discussions regarding options to identify and enable acceptable business improvement solutions. Managing change requests, you will negotiate feedback based on the MOSCOW technique with the Product Owner and raise change requests for formal approval to the approving committee.
- Leading the detailed systems design process, you will document project artifacts, including functional and non-functional requirements, interface requirements, and data requirements. To document different business artifacts, you will use Confluence and JIRA tools.
