Job Description
The Business Analyst position is a key role that is responsible for applying analytical solutions to problems and existing processes with the aim to increase effectiveness through technology solutions. This role plays an integral part in bridging the gap between Technology, Product and the Business using data analytics to assess processes and determine requirements that will allow Technology delivery teams to effectively meet business needs. An ability to produce documentation (in a timely manner) that supports either product or project teams to achieve outcomes, using different delivery methodologies is an important part of the role, so a blend of experience is important particularly in terms of agile delivery.
The initial focus will be working on an onboarding project, which will involve customer journey optimization and redesign. This work will include integration with various other systems including, customer due diligence workflow systems, CRM system, and other backend systems.
This role is within a fast-moving team and will involve working with some ambiguity to achieve objectives, so you must be comfortable with that. As such you will be expected to take initiative and display strong communication and time-management skills to facilitate meetings that ensure teams and stakeholders are aligned on the outcomes.
What you do
- Determining operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.
- Understand how technology can support business goals.
- Identifying problems within the business, including using data modelling techniques, constructing workflow diagrams, studying system capabilities, writing specifications.
- Overseeing the implementation of new technology and systems, including enhancements and be a key person to conduct UAT to ensure what has been developed is in line with business requirements.
- Running workshops and training sessions.
- Conducting gap analysis and work with technical leads/architects to identify where existing solutions do not meet the business requirements. Ensure this is clearly documented. Model the data requirements or work with the appropriate teams to ensure that the data will support the new solution.
- Documenting user stories or project requirements. Prioritizing user stories in conjunction with the product manager/owner or project requirements in conjunction with the project manager.
- Documenting acceptance criteria and validating the results. Ongoing management of the backlog and/or requirements to ensure that it is aligned with business needs.
- Looking for gaps in data requirements between what is in place and what is needed. Modeling the data requirements or work with the appropriate people to ensure that the data will support the new solution.
- Maintaining consistent and constant communication with stakeholders, in alignment with the PM or PO.
- Working with the SME’s to understand the B2B integration requirements for OFX partners.
- Building relationships with 3rd party partners within this domain to deliver business outcomes and services.
- Relevant Business Analysis qualification/experience
- Minimum of 6+ years’ experience in a Business Analysis Role
- Solid Process Mapping and Process Re-Engineering experience, including solid understanding of BPMN and UML.
- Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma preferrable
- Good understanding of APIs (preferably Rest API) and integration
- Experience in Financial or payment services company preferred
- Experience working in digital area & in client/consumer facing products and projects
- Ability to understand Microservice/API and application/system architecture
- Commercial awareness
- Communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- An interest in, and understanding of, project delivery techniques (Agile, project management etc) and computing systems
- Being detail-oriented and capable of delivering a high level of accuracy
- Proven ability to drive technology teams to deliver results
- Extremely well organised with strong time-management skills
- Work well under pressure
- Demonstrated experience working on Scrum and/or Kanban based products
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Ability to think on your feet and learn quickly
- Knowledge of and significant experience working with Jira and Confluence is required
