Job description
About the Role
Here at BOQ Group we have been busy working behind the scenes building out our fastest-growing team – Group Risk – for an exciting and ambitious future-state.
We are strengthening, simplifying, and digitising, whilst ensuring our foundations are in place. With foundation comes strength, and we are building strong and stable teams to work across our multi-branded business but most importantly, elevating our Risk culture – there is so much opportunity to contribute to the overarching frameworks and be paramount in supporting our transformation into a digital bank.
Sitting with our fabulous Group Risk division, our Business and Controls Manager will be responsible for supporting both our General Manager for Integrated Risk Programs and our Program Manager for our exciting (and new!) inhouse risk program of work – rQ. This role plays a crucial part to effectively monitor and control our program operations, including traceability of program dependencies, facilitate external assurance verification and record and report closure of issues.
Other areas that this role will be getting involved with are:
Setup and maintain Confluence and JIRA for workstreams
Work across the Transformation Programs and teams to align on dependencies
Reporting, reporting and more reporting!
Perform monthly accruals and keep the Program Forecast up to date
Provide general administrative support across the stream
About you
As an experienced Business and Controls extraordinaire, you’ll join us with exposure to managing large transformational programs of work, with a banking and financial services landscape. Yip – you live and breathe all things project management related and join us with a passion, and experience for keeping things organised, and in check! You come armed with a wealth of administration knowledge, and know how to implement workstream frameworks, partnering with teams for a successful uptake.
We operate in a highly regulated, fast-paced environment so we are seeking a strategic thinker who can problem-solve on the fly. Collaboration and partnership come naturally to you, where you aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in, participating and promoting cooperative working relationships across the organisation.
As an outcome-driven professional you enjoy proactively communicating with the business to ensure all correct data is collected, reports are written, and you are across the finer details of the program. You keep cool, calm, and collected under pressure and are at your best when you are presenting your findings, in a creative light.
You’re a natural born people-person with a strong background in administration, with a thorough understanding of the importance of reporting for auditing and regulatory purposes – we are a bank after all! Other skills and experience we are ideally seeking include:
Demonstrable organisational and time management skills
Exposure to, or willingness to learn, Confluence and JIRA applications
Corporate written and verbal communication skills
Skilled in MS Teams, Sharepoint and MS Office
Strong senior leader stakeholder engagement skills
Disciplined in keeping detailed notes for traceability back to internal and external auditors
Working for us is fun and fast-paced, and we are seeking top talent to take us where we want to go. BOQ Group people are easy to spot. They're smart, energetic, full of ideas and passionate about what they do. If this sounds like you and you're looking to join a multi-brand on the forefront of financial services, we'd love to chat!
