Maurice Blackburn (MB) is Australia’s leading consumer facing law firm and we’re looking for an energetic, self-starter willing to help us expand our Client Acquisition team.

The Client Acquisition team at MB fosters new and manages existing relationships (B2B) with many of Australia’s leading health and community organisations, peak industry bodies and other professionals. Effective management of these relationships is pivotal to supporting members in need of legal advice and support.

We are looking for Business Development Coordinators on a 12-month fixed term contract, who will report to the Business Development Manager and support a field focused team of business development managers and legal practice teams to maximise relationships with existing referrers and help support activity to partner with new referrers.

This role will be central in ensuring the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the team from an administrative, reporting and coordination perspective.  We are looking for one of the roles to support our union partners and the second to focus on health partnerships.

This role offers great experience which could be a stepping stone to a variety of futures.

Some of the Responsibilities

  • To execute activities in line with Business Development Plans and support our teams;
  • Support team and firm B2B planning processes;
  • Create presentations and reports;
  • Work closely with each of the Business Development managers
  • Assist with planning, organising and execution of events, conferences/webinars, team meetings;
  • Process invoices and book travel & accommodation;
  • Conduct desktop market and competitor research; and
  • Participate in specific business development projects and initiatives.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Experience across the Health sector desirable 
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Strong ability to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders (networking)
  • Great time management and organisational skills
  • Understanding of business development, sales and/or marketing in a commercial business
  • Great skills in using Microsoft suite of products.  Adept at learning other solutions
  • The ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a team is crucial to being successful in this role.
