About the Business
Our client is an Australian owned software provider, specialising in servicing the Construction sector for over 10 years. Due to unprecedented, growth they are looking for a motivated BDM to join their successful team.
About the Role
With the opportunity to work with a variety of clients, this a full-time, permanent position based at your home office with occasional travel (as required). As the Business Development Manager, you will work among a team while still having the ability to work autonomously at times promoting a high standard of innovative, technology-based services relating to processes standards and CRMs, to the Building and Construction sectors.
You will be developing sales strategies and driving sales activities across regions of Australia to a level that achieves set sales goals, targets and revenue for the organisation. This role is also responsible for overseeing our client’s customer base, ensuring exceptional customer service, and building long term and sustainable business relationships.
Duties
· Preparing and submitting quotes to assist in the sales process
· Developing growth strategies and plans
· Arranging business meetings with prospective clients
· Preparing presentations and presenting the product to prospective clients
· Promoting the company’s products/services and addressing or predicting clients’ objectives
· Closing new business deals by preparing and negotiating proposals and or quotes
· Supporting the company’s Values, Code of Conduct & Ethics, policies,
· procedures, and guidelines
· Managing and retaining relationships with existing clients
· Gaining an in-depth knowledge of the Software product and value proposition
· Networking and working with industry bodies and other key stakeholders to drive brand familiarity and harness this effort to aid in driving sustainable business outcomes
· Sales management: ensuring alignment of goals & KPIs
· Preparing PowerPoint presentations
· Working closely with the CEO to ensure sales activities are closely aligned with the vision and any business planning/direction requirements
· Developing and mentoring entry level employees into valuable salespeople
· Ensuring all documentation is recorded accurately
· Maintaining in-depth knowledge of our client’s products service offerings and methodologies
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have at least 3 years of experience in a similar role, involving:
· Knowledge of the Construction sector
· Ability to liaise with customers, suppliers & internal employees
· Ability to professionally present sales presentations
· Ability to manage one’s own time and prioritise competing tasks to achieve outcomes under pressure and within scheduled time frames.
· Being diligent and professional in the pursuit of the job
· Having a proven working experience as a BDM, Sales Executive or a relevant role.
· Ability to meet sales targets
· Have good professional relationships amongst the Building and Construction sectors
· Experience in customer support
· Experience in selling software products
· Ability to work with Word, Excel,PowerPoint & apps in general
· Ability to manage the sales right through the whole process right through to closing and meeting deadlines
· Excellent communication skills both written & verbal
· Solution orientation with sound negotiation skills
· Excellent time management and planning skills
· Highly motivated with a professional attitude
· Must be reliable, approachable, and responsible for accurate completion of work
· Sales & estimating efforts with in-depth project and business expertise
· High attention to detail
· Knowledge of WHS functions throughout the Construction sector
· Relevant Tertiary qualification/s, with an MBA being of an advantage
