Business Development Manager
Key Competencies/Experiences
The following competencies and experiences are required:
Accountability:
Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of a business development team, in alignment with Sales priorities. Sets action plan for the team, and drives a volume of activity (emails, LinkedIn, Calls) to generate pipeline.
Complexity:
Provides daily coaching and mentoring of the team, comprised mainly of Fresh Graduates and Early Talent – responsible for their development as professionals. Makes day to day decisions within or for a team applying own expertise, with supervision from next-level Manager on critical issues.
Experience:
Previous managerial experience a plus. Advanced technical or business skills and special knowledge in IT and sales/pre-sales experience a must.
Communication:
Builds and maintains partnerships with internal and external customers and partners. Formulates clear team objectives and work assignments. Communicates unpleasant messages in a timely and constructive manner to team, with higher-level management support in critical cases
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Demand Generation:
The purpose of this position is to extend SAP's market coverage in each segment for Software Subscriptions and Services by generating new pipeline by supervising a team of professionals with two main objectives:
-executing Targeted Outbound Campaigns via phone, chat, email, and other Digital Tools
-accelerating pipeline and increasing conversion by executing programmatic recycled (discontinued / disqualified leads) and reconstituted nurturing (aged pipeline)
For targeted outbound campaigns, leads will be qualified according to the BANTS methodology, and handed over to Sales using standard global process.
Various aging leads and opportunities will be assigned to the DNA for nurturing with return back to the Inside Sales Executive for Closure.
The Demand Nurturing Agent supports several Inside Sales executives and will be co-located in the eCenter. They will be active participants in territory and account planning to support the team and will be the future candidate pool for transition into ISE roles.
Campaign Execution & Lead Management
Supervises a team of professionals who:
-Plan call and e-mail activities to generate Leads using the most efficient means, in collaboration with the Field Marketing, Solution Specialists, Inside Sales Management
-Align with Inside Sales colleagues for most effective territory planning and execution, covering all routes to market
-Generate and Qualify leads through proper means (cold calling, phone campaigns, email actions, etc.)
-Pass qualified leads to Inside Sales resource for sales stage execution
-Regularly review lead pipeline and progression. Proactively give qualitative and quantitative feedback to Marketing on campaigns
Opportunity and Lead Nurturing
Supervises a team of professionals who:
-Actively follow up on aging/stagnant leads and opportunities to re-energize back into an active sales cycles
-Plan call and e-mail activities in close alignment with Inside Sales / Field Sales for most efficient opportunity acceleration
-Drive ongoing nurturing of opportunities expected to enter active sales cycles in 6-12 months out
-The Manager will have the same KPIs as Sales, based on Pipeline & Revenue
Talent Development
-Drives the execution of ongoing training and coaching programs as defined for the team
-Initiates recruiting and drives evaluation process of new team members in the light of coverage needs
-Supervises and coordinates the team to meet goals and to introduce innovative strategies for successful coverage
-Supervises productivity of all team members
Experience & Educational Requirements
-Minimum 7-10 years' experience in Demand Generation or Inside Sales environment
-Preferably prior Technology Sales or Pre-Sales Experience, managing a territory of clients, with excellent achievement in Quota retirement and Customer Satisfaction in a
-High volume activity working environments, involving phone and a CRM / contact management system
-Fluent in English
-Bachelor or equivalent business experience
