In this role you will be empowered to grow profitable sales with existing customers and develop new business within the Metcash Food Wholesale business within your defined territory. You will be driven to achieve targeted business plans and sales revenue goals.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver sales budget within the defined territory to reach EBIT target
  • Execute the state and national convenience sales strategy to achieve set objectives
  • Maintain effective relationships internally and externally to deliver core partnership strategies for the Wholesale business.
  • Execution of a territory customer call plan in line with the Wholesale strategy, ensuring sales are captured by the business in the most effective manner (e.g. web portal, telesales)
  • Grow existing business through relationship management techniques and effective use of promotional campaigns, range reviews and new product development
  • Build and maintain collaborative and effective relationships with key support roles and contacts eg Telesales, Customers Service and Store Operations teams to optimize service and sales opportunities

What you’ll bring

  • Direct selling experience in-field, preferably within the FMCG industry
  • Experience within Foodservice industry advantageous
  • Competent using trade maths to understand pricing, margin and profit levers
  • Sound negotiation skills to execute win-win outcome
  • Ability to anlayse and interpret internal and external data to develop sales strategies
