Job Description
A newly created opportunity, for a Business Insights Analyst to join Toll’s Government & Defence business unit, based at 380 St Kilda Rd, Melbourne.
As Business Insights Analyst you will be accountable for leading and managing a range of BI and insights initiatives, which include development of dashboards and reports, defining and implementing data archiving strategy, migration of data and analysis in order to provide business insights that maximise benefits to Toll and its customers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Translate business needs to technical specifications
- Design, build and deploy BI solutions and reporting tools
- Maintain and support data analytics platforms (Power BI, S/4 Hana Fiori apps, MS SQL, etc.)
- Create tools to store data (Power BI Datasets/Power Query, SSAS tabular models, Synapse, etc)
- Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure that customer and business impact is considered while delivering all projects or programmes of work.
To ensure your success you will possess:
- 5 - 8 years’ experience as a BI Developer or Data Scientist delivering BI solutions in large and complex operations environment
- Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modelling) and data mining
- In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework
- Knowledge of BI technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI, SAP Analytics)
- Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and Python
- Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative
- Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude
- Education: BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or relevant field
- Must be an Australian Citizen
