About the role
You will apply your knowledge and skills in information architecture, data management, data analytics and data presentation, along with your skills with Microsoft Power BI and Azure to help transform the way Churches of Christ collates, manages and uses information to deliver meaningful business insights.
Position Responsibilities
- Work with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, identify key performance and reporting metrics, and lead the design and development of fit-for-purpose data models and user-focused Power BI visualisations and reports.
- Contribute to the organisations data architecture and standards for data management.
- Provide technical and skills leadership to the development team to develop, maintain and support Power BI and Azure Data Warehouse solutions.
- Work with the ICT leadership team to prepare work plans, identify risks, and assess change impacts.
- Work with source system owners and technical specialists to identify "source of truth" data to meet BI requirements.

It is important that you are an efficient person with the ability to listen to the needs of management and general staff. You will possess a high degree of professionalism and initiative.
Essential requirements
- Demonstrated experience delivering transformational business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI and Azure Data Stack.
- The ability to work closely with business stakeholders with varying understanding of advanced BI capabilities to become their trusted advisor.
- Ability to manage competing stakeholder demands, and properly plan and supervise delivery to plan.
- Ability and willingness to lead "hands on" with all aspects of the Azure Data Platform and Power BI solution delivery.
- Solid agile lifecycle management skills, particularly within Microsoft DevOps.
- Identify and assess emerging technologies and trends (e.g. AI and ML) to drive a modern BI capability.
Desirable requirements
- Extensive experience with traditional data warehousing solutions (e.g. ETL, SSIS/SSAS/SSRS, SQL).
- Experience building a greenfield Business Intelligence capability within a rapidly changing environment.
- Experience in the care sector, particularly aged and community care, child youth and family care, and social housing services.
- Be an active listener and critical thinker.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail in all aspects of work.
You will also require:
- A National Police Check or ability to acquire.
