The CIO for technology team is focused on ensuring CommBank has global technology competitive advantage, including a world-class engineering capability, scaled innovation, and use of the most relevant and important emerging technologies.
We work hard to ensure that best practice, whether inside CommBank or outside in the broader technology ecosystem, is discovered, sheltered, nurtured, and spread to wherever else it can drive the most benefit for the Group and our customers.

Your Role
Reporting to the General Manager CIO for Technology your responsibilities will be as follows but not limited to:
- Join, and actively participate in the leadership team and help coordinate activities across the various units – Emerging Technology, the Engineering Practice & Tech Ecosystem.
- Provide operational support to help to manage the financials & workforce for the team and work closely with those key stakeholders;
- Actively be a part of team planning sessions
- On a monthly basis, prepare a consolidated view of where key deliverables are at and share this with the CTO Performance team
- Take the lead in running team scrums and making sure that the team follows best agile practices
- Provide efficient, professional delivery of administrative, secretarial and business support
- Diary and inbox management – scheduling meetings, managing correspondence and ensuring an effective use of their time. Ensuring daily packs are prepared for manager to review prior to meetings
- Providing superior and executive level of support to the team – always maintaining a professional approach (both internally and externally) and a high level of confidentiality
- Reconciliation of monthly invoices and expenses for the team ensuring adherence to policies
- Coordinating internal/external meetings with clients/stakeholders – including liaising with EA’s and arranging meeting room bookings
- Arranging events/functions/offsites/team building events (including catering where required)
- Participation in Leadership Team meetings – coordinating agendas/minute taking
- Adhere to the Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct sets the standards of behaviour, actions and decisions we expect from our people.
- Oversee adherence to policy, risk management, and financial deliverables.
We're interested in hearing from people who have:
- Minimum 5 years Co-Ordination/Administrative/Executive Assistant experience within the Banking & Finance industry or similar environment
- Superior skills in Microsoft Office, particularly in preparing presentations
- The ability to manage workflow, priorities, work well under pressure and be flexible
- High level of professionalism – face to face, over the phone and through correspondence
- Self-motivated individual, who displays a pro-active style, has exceptional attention to detail and an inherent desire to provide excellent customer service.
- Demonstrated risk & cost management mindset.
- Experience working with Agile ways of working, including tooling such as Jira & Confluence
