CABINETMAKER

· Salary $57,000 to $60,000 per year plus superannuation

Rods Kitchens is looking for a professional cabinetmaker to join our team.

We are seeking a self- motivated, English speaking, articulate person to fill the role of trade qualified Cabinetmaker within our company.

The position is mainly factory based; however, we are also interested in people with site experience. Rod's Kitchens have been specialising in designing and installing custom-built kitchens since 1979. We are passionate about providing a high-quality service in all areas of our business. We are steadily expanding, promoting from within, and bringing on new team members to join our work family.

Your duties will include:

• Construction and assembly of cabinet components, making sure that all pieces fit the dimensions specified by the foreman and client
• Verify and double check all calculations to ensure alignment of doors, hinges and side panels, always using design plans for reference
• Clean and repair all equipment necessary for your work, including handsaws, table saws, skill saws, and a variety of drills and sanding tools
• Be exact in measurements and markings so that materials will be used efficiently, and the projects will meet budgetary restrictions
• Install the appropriate hardware, such as hinges and handles, and order replacement materials when needed
• Match materials and grains to create a uniform appearance for all the matching units
• Reinforce joints and attachments to maximize sturdiness and durability without compromising aesthetic appeal or functionality
• Maintain a safe working environment including cleaning and disposing of old materials, such as nails and screws

ABOUT THE POSITION

• Mainly factory based.
• Monday-Thursday 7.00am-3.30pm & Friday 7.00am-1.00pm.
• Overtime available.

• Current license essential. Manual license preferred.

The successful applicant will need to be a qualified cabinetmaker, hold Certificate III in Cabinet Making and have a minimum of 2 years’ work experience as a professional cabinetmaker.

Preference will be given to applicants with experience working on a number of projects simultaneously, showing a commitment to ongoing education and self-improvement either within the cabinetmaking field or other areas. Being multi-lingual is an advantage.
