Bullant Building is a reputable building contractor based in Alice Springs, specializing in providing comprehensive services to the building, construction, and commercial industries. Our expertise includes trenching, site leveling, commercial construction, building pads, small excavation, and general demolition services across the Central Northern Territory, including remote locations.
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cabinetmaker to join our dynamic team at Bullant Building. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the construction process, contributing to the creation of high-quality structures and ensuring the successful completion of various projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Interpret architectural drawings and specifications to determine material requirements, dimensions, and installation procedures for projects.
2. Effectively manage the ordering and selection of timbers and materials, ensuring quality and adherence to project specifications. Additionally, prepare detailed layouts for construction projects.
3. Utilize precision cutting skills to shape materials, assembling and expertly nailing cut pieces to form structural components.
4. Take a hands-on approach in erecting framework and roof framing, as well as laying sub-flooring and floorboards. Verify the trueness and alignment of structures to maintain high-quality standards.
5. Apply craftsmanship in nailing fascia panels, sheathing roofs, and precisely fitting exterior wall cladding, door, and window frames.
6. Contribute to the assembly of prepared wood, constructing structures and fittings ready for installation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
7. Demonstrate proficiency in cutting wood joints using various techniques to meet project requirements.
8. May be involved in the construction of concrete formwork, showcasing versatility in carpentry skills and contributing to diverse project needs.
9. Collaborate with team members and project managers to ensure seamless project execution.
10. Participate in on-site inspections to assess project progress and identify areas for improvement.
11. Maintain and repair existing wooden structures as required.
12. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to create a secure working environment.
13. Provide mentorship and guidance to apprentices and junior carpenters when necessary.
14. Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and techniques to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
1. Suitable certification or relevant experience.
Experience:
1. At least two years’ experience in a similar environment.
2. Proven experience as a Cabinetmaker in the building and construction industry.
Skills:
3. Strong understanding of project specifications, drawings, and material requirements.
4. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
5. Effective communication and collaboration skills within a team-oriented environment.
6. Commitment to quality workmanship, attention to detail, and adherence to project timelines.
