So, with all of that said … what are the details of the role?
In the Brisbane-based role of Cadet Project Engineer, you’ll be responsible for helping to manage a project's engineering and technical aspects. This includes coordinating with various teams, managing schedules, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and providing technical guidance to team members.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Company, Director and project teams with a wide variety of engineering and project management tasks
- Developing cost effective engineering solutions for projects working in integrated teams
- Providing off-site & on-site (where applicable) engineering and construction management services to the Company or its clients
- Assisting with tender submissions for various clients and projects
- Assist with the production of scopes of works and RFQ for vendor and market input into projects, including adjudication and recommendations based on offers received
- Coordinating the resolution of technical/design queries as required.
- Coordinating procurement and work pack development for the project/contract.
- Working with the Company to produce specifications, management plans, tender documentation (where applicable)
- Helping compile and produce Company templates, processes, and standards
- Provide estimating and programming assistance to the Company
- Contributing to Design Management, Quality Assurance and Health & Safety processes • Work in accordance with company quality assurance procedures, client specifications and ISO requirements
- Providing safety leadership through design and construction. Identify hazards and advise on safety procedures. Actively monitor work practices to ensure adherence to correct procedures and standards for safety and environmental performance.
- Compiling schedule, cost, progress and forecast reports for the project/contract. Ensure own work meets budget requirements and that appropriate systems are in place to identify variations.
- Understanding contractual obligations for the company, customer and suppliers.
- Utilise knowledge to manage groups of suppliers whilst maintaining strong customer focus.
- Providing guidance and feedback to help others excel.
- Developing and using collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals.
- Creating a culture of customer service excellence
- Setting high standards and accountability for delivering on projects/contracts.
What’s in the fine print?
You’ll need:
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering and/or Project Management.
- Experience in a similar role delivering civil infrastructure projects
- Construction White Card
- Demonstrated ability in proactively building relationships with key stakeholders and team members
