About the Role
We are seeking a values-driven and dedicated Cafe Barista reporting to the Corps Officer. Our cafe clientele is predominantly members of the homeless community or those seeking Salvation Army support. Apart from serving good coffee, they need someone who will understand their situation and offer empathy and a smile.
You will serve people good coffee and offer good hospitality, in collaboration with Doorways Emergency Relief, to help create an environment of dignity, love and respect.
This is a permanent part-time position (15 hours per week) based at City Salvos, Adelaide.
You will successfully
Prepare and serve drinks and, occasionally, some food items
Interact positively, confidently and respectfully with a wide range of community guests/customers
Clean the kitchen and coffee machine/equipment to the required standards
Open, set up and close the cafe
You will have
Safe Food Handling certificate
Café or Restaurant experience would be well regarded
A valid employee Working with Children Check
A willingness to undergo a National Police Check
