Job summary
From humble beginnings in 1990 from a small country Bakery, to 34 years later know in the region for our quality artisan products, cafe menu and the best beverages in town.
Open six days from 6 am, as part of our full-time cafe kitchen crew your schedule would be Monday - Friday 7 am - 3 pm. You would work an alternate Saturday as the lead cook from 6 am - 1 pm.
We pride ourselves on quality and consistency, and we encourage creativity with our menu items. Experience with Breakfast and lunch menus are required, qualifications are not necessary.
Responsibilities and duties
• Checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises before production runs to ensure consistent production daily.
• Compliant with occupational health and safety regulations
• Checking the quality of raw materials and adhering to recipe & menu weight ingredients.
• Operating machines such as gas cook top, ovens, meat slicers, blenders, soup warmers, bain-maries, grill, fryers etc.
• Controlling cooking times and monitoring the temperature and appearance of products.
• Checking customer orders and delivery details.
• Ensuring highest possible food quality according to the health and safety regulations.
• Assembling and maintaining the right temperature of the machineries such as oven, fryer, Bain-marie, etc.
• Temperature and quality monitoring of all refrigerated and frozen products.
• Scaling up and mixes ingredients according to the standard recipe card.
• Preparation & delivery of meals from the café menu at a high quality.
• Preparation & delivery of Catering and Grab & Go meals from our menu at a high quality.
• Quality control awareness on ordering and wastage.
• Completion & participation in the daily running of the kitchen duties by following the Morning, End of Day and Prep process and systems.
