Due to an internal movement, a unique position to coordinate and produce a successful café has been made available at Goonellabah Sports and Aquatic Centre. This is a permanent role forming part of the Liveable and Active Communities team, where you'll be working on providing outstanding customer service, mentoring and supervising café staff, as well as value adding to an already fantastic community facility.

You'll be working in a part time 25-30 hour per week role, with flexibility in hours based on operational requirements of the facility, that will primarily be based at the GSAC Café!

What we trust you to deliver

  • Build a thriving and profitable café which complements all other aspects of the business.
  • Provide of a variety of cost-effective food and beverage options that meet the needs of centre clientele.
  • Operate an efficient business that achieves an annual profit.
  • Maintain food and hygiene standards as required by policy and regulations.
  • Train, monitor and supervise staff to assist in the smooth operations of the café.
  • Comply with all WHS requirements as per policy and regulations.
  • Provide a consistently high standard of customer service to patrons and centre staff.
What you'll need to be successful
  • Relevant Industry experience including barista skills
  • Food Safety Supervisor Accreditation
  • A genuine desire to help others and assist people
  • Strong communication skills
  • practical knowledge and experience in maintaining presentation and cleanliness of facilities
  • Safe manual handling techniques
