A Full Time Cafe/Restaurant Manager is required for one of Western Australia's top Resorts.
Abbey Beach Resort is situated 2 ½ hours south of Perth nestled on the beachfront of Geographe Bay amidst landscaped gardens and lakes and at the gateway to the famous Margaret River region.
The Resort comprises a Café, Brasserie Restaurant and busy Function Centre catering for meetings and conferences..
Tasks & responsibilities
- Managing and organizing the day to day operations of the restaurant operations
- Monitoring the quality of restaurant services and dishes served at all times, through assessment of customer feedback, in maintaining a high standard of operations.
- Monitor food preparation and health and safety practices to ensure the restaurant and staff are presentable and in compliance with company standards and regulations.
- Planning menus in liaison with Cooks and Chefs to ensure the restaurant consistently offers a variety of fresh and current dishes.
- Dealing with and resolving customer complaints and assessing feedback to continuously work on improving service.
- Greeting customers, and assisting in taking orders from time to time, to offer a high level of customer service.
- Working closely with the Director to set up the sales forecast and reviewing and monitoring expenditure according to budget limitations.
- Organizing the daily and weekly rosters for staff.
- Managing recruitment process such as selecting staff, carrying out and organizing training as required & supervising staff to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Controlling stock levels , including undertaking purchase order, negotiating prices with suppliers, keeping purchasing/payment records and recording stock takes.
- Undertaking daily and monthly banking and budget reports.
- Assisting with stock control for restaurant including ordering & storage in accordance with the Food Safety
- Ensuring sanitary practices for food handling, cleanliness and maintenance of food service and dining areas and complying with health and safety regulations.
- This position requires the minimum of a relevant Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar management role in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated leadership skills
