Job description
The Carbon Outreach Officer will be responsible for delivering training and advice to empower Northern and Yorke farmers, land managers and First Nations people to understand and then to participate in carbon markets and integrate low emission technologies and practices into their farming operations and land management practices. This will require delivering a carbon farming training package that provides clear, consistent and culturally appropriate information on carbon farming and low-emissions technologies and practices that are relevant to the Northern and Yorke Region. The role will engage closely with farmers, land manager, First Nations people, farming systems groups, agri-business and industry bodies to facilitate and implement workshops, events and activities that will promote carbon farming outcomes and opportunities, that align with the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board, the South Australian and the Australian Government's objectives for sustainable agriculture and natural resource management.
