For more than 20 years, James Barker House in Footscray has provided aged care services within the community. We take pride in our services, which specialise in providing residential aged care for all people, particularly those who are marginalised and homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless, for people with AOD dependency, mental health issues and challenging behaviors. We have tailored programs to uphold the wellbeing and dignity of our residents, to support them in leading a healthy and independent lifestyle.
We are looking for a Casual Care Service Employee to join our friendly and dedicated team.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Care Service Employees provide personal care, physical and emotional support and companionship for up to 30 residents as a team member, in a team comprised of 2 or more people
Deliver comprehensive, individualised personal care to residents in aged care facilities, in accordance with nursing care plans (NCPs)
Maintain accurate documentation throughout each shift
Report all and any concerns relating to residents’ health & well-being, to the nurse in charge (NIC) promptly and accurately & comply with all reasonable RN/EN directives
Ensure the privacy and dignity of residents is maintained at all times and that all personal interactions reflect respect and compassion
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for candidates with:
An appreciation of and the ability and willingness to promote and support the values and ethos of The Salvation Army.
Must have a Certificate III or IV in Aged Care and current First Aid Certificate
An understanding and commitment to the provision of truly person centered care
Understanding of WHS and infection control principles
An understanding of residents’ changing care needs and how this translates in ACFI reviews
Computer literacy and experience with documentation
Excellent communication skills
A commitment to continuous improvement
Ability to work in a team environment
National NDIS Worker Screening Check
