CASHIER OFFICER

An opportunity exists for a Cashier Officer to join our dynamic Billings & Receivables team, based at Werribee Mercy Hospital. The Cashier Officer is responsible for the timely and accurate receipting and allocation of monies received across multiple systems and will be required to
- Prepare and reconcile daily banking reports
- Receipt cheque, cash and EFTPOS payments from general public, health funds, compensable parties and sundry debtors
- Balance cash and EFTPOS transactions
- Count cash and reconcile prior to releasing electronically to the bank
- Be a point of contact for customer queries
- Contribute to continuous improvement opportunities to mitigate risks and improve work processes
- Work closely with members of the public, patients and other Hospital team members
- Total 32 hours per fortnight.
- 0.2 EFT permanent
- 0.2 EFT fixed term contract until 9 April 2023
- HS2 classification
To be successful in the role you will:
- Have previous cash handling and receipt knowledge with experience using multiple IT systems (essential)
- Have previous experience in the health industry (essential)
- Have highly developed Customer Service skills
- Have the ability to operate in a changing and challenging environment
- Be Self-motivated and willing to contribute to continuous improvement opportunities
- Have the ability to perform a wide range of administrative tasks with attention to detail and accuracy
- Be proficient with Microsoft Office and data entry (essential)
Werribee Mercy Hospital is a General Public Hospital located in the rapidly growing Western suburbs of Melbourne. Our services include surgical, medical, maternity, newborn, renal dialysis, emergency, mental health, rehabilitation, aged and palliative care. The hospital has recently undergone significant expansion with the opening or our new intensive care unit, additional operating theatres and the opening of two new wards, taking the total number of beds to 298.
