The Role
The Role of the Chef/cook is to ensure that the meals and refreshments are provided to our Peninsula View Community residents that meet their individual nutritional needs and preferences. The cook is responsible for providing services that are in line with the Food Safety Program guidelines.
Key Accountabilities:
Contribute to the production of food items such as therapeutic diets, special meals etc.
Follow recipe cards and prepare defined menus in a timely manner.
Assist the Head Chef with the management of the food safety plan and its day-to-day compliance.
Assist with the management of stock items.
Ensuring meals and refreshments are provided that meet the resident’s individual needs
Maintaining the Food Safety Program guidelines
Ensuring all staff in catering department maintain safe food handling practices
About you
You will have previous experience in cooking and working in an aged care or industry Kitchen team, including:
Knowledge of Food Safely and HACCP compliance
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
Hold Relevant Industry Training – Food Handling and Hygiene Certificates/Commercial cookery certificate III / IV.
