Bannisters Hotels in Port Stephens are looking for experienced full-time Chefs to join our team.

The duties and responsibilities for the positions include, but are not limited to the following;

• Demonstrate sophisticated cooking skills and techniques;
• Prepare, cook, serve and present high-quality dishes;
• Plan, develop and create menus;
• Co-ordinate daily tasks with kitchen staff;
• Knowledge of standard procedures and policies relating to food preparation, receiving, preserving, freezing and storing all food products;
• Knowledge and enforcement of hygiene and safety requirements when handling food products;
• Monitor stock levels and complete orders for food supplies;
• Correctly operate and maintain kitchen equipment;
• Supervise and train junior chefs and other kitchen staff;
• Understanding of rostering and labour costs

Skills and experience required for the position:

• Relevant Diploma with at least two years full-time work experience OR at least three years of full-time relevant work experience
• A competent understanding of creating and cooking classic European menus OR central and South American menus

Salary range: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 inclusive of super.
