Launch Housing is Melbourne's premier community housing and homelessness service provider, dedicated to ending homelessness. They are committed to impact-driven solutions, utilising evidence-based approaches to deliver housing, education, and support, to those at risk or experiencing homelessness. Their dedicated team of 400 professionals collaborates with philanthropic donors and partner agencies to assist over 14,000 people annually. With unprecedented levels of government investment in the community housing sector, Launch Housing is at the forefront of tackling Australia's homelessness and housing affordability crisis. Their ambition includes building 500 new dwellings per year, necessitating the strengthening of their commercial team to deliver and maintain homes that people on low and moderate incomes can afford to rent.About the role
The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) plays a crucial role in achieving the strategic goals and ensuring the financial and commercial success of Launch Housing. A key member of the Executive team, the CCO brings enterprise and systems thinking , providing strategic advice on ways to engage government on financial and contractual performance, including significant investment decisions and debt instruments. Building strong relationships with peers, funders, commercial partners, and government regulators, you will navigate an environment of change, complexity, and ambiguity, empowering and developing a team of 5 direct and 15 indirect reports and fostering an accountable culture of controls, collaboration and business partnering. The role encompasses reliable financial reporting, robust analysis, and data insights to support sustainable service delivery, through effective budgeting and capital management strategies. Additionally, it will ensure the continuous improvement of ICT systems, whilst growing government revenue to deliver more effective outcomes for clients, renters and the organisation.About you
You are a calm, curious, and credible CA/CPA qualified executive leader with an enterprise mindset and extensive experience in financial and commercial management, ideally within the community housing sector or a similar field. Your background includes dealing with debt instruments, property and investment management, and engaging with government stakeholders, banks, and commercial partners. Your success will hinge on balancing commercial and strategic drive to achieve sustainable growth, focusing on robust financial performance and good governance, and aligning with the mission of Launch Housing. Excelling in people leadership and experienced in managing diverse teams across Finance and ICT, you possess high emotional intelligence and empathy.
