Independent Schools Australia (ISA) was established as a national peak body to assist, strengthen and promote Independent schools in Australia. Through its eight member associations, ISA represents some 1,187 Independent schools with 667,259 students.
ISA’s primary role is to advocate for the sector on national school policy and funding issues, to promote the choice, diversity, quality, and unique contribution Independent schools make to education in Australia, and to champion their independent status.
Located in Canberra, ISA is staffed by a small team of professionals who are specialists in their fields of education policy, research, data analysis, communications and corporate management. With the support of the ISA Board and staff, you will work closely with ISA’s member associations and the Australian Government to ensure adequate resourcing, funding certainty, increased teacher workforce participation, and improved education and care for young Australians attending Independent schools.
To achieve the organisation’s goals, the ideal candidate will have exceptional experience in engaging with Members of Parliament, the Australian Government and media, and have a record of collaborating effectively across multiple, complex stakeholders to set a strategic direction and achieve shared objectives. An understanding of independent education is important, and senior executive experience in the education sector is an advantage, though not an essential requirement.
A remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
