Job Description
The Arts and Culture Trust operates under the leadership of the Chief Executive Officer, whose responsibilities are set out in the Arts and Culture Trust Act 2021. The Trust is governed by an independent board and is responsible to the Minister for Culture and the Arts.
The Trust has broad powers and flexibility to manage, care for and develop State cultural assets for future generations including:
- Albany Entertainment Centre
- His Majesty’s Theatre
- King Street Arts Centre
- Perth Concert Hall
- State Theatre Centre of WA
- Subiaco Arts Centre
The CEO:
- provides strategic leadership and direction to the Arts and Culture Trust
- achieves the objectives and priorities of the Trust, the sector and the government and supports sector-wide initiatives
- develops and fosters strategic business plans and budgets, strategic partnerships and relationships with the arts and culture portfolio, industry, promoters, and the private sector
- builds the Trust’s reputation as the State’s premier arts and cultural agency
- facilitates and engages in commercial opportunities to support growth
- provides strategic leadership regarding the development of events, entrepreneurial and artistic programs, including the identification and management of operational and corporate risks
- manages the Trust’s financial and other reporting mechanisms, controls and monitoring systems, advises the board on corporate performance and future direction to fulfil its governance requirements
- provides expert independent advice to the board, the Minister and government.
