The Warrnambool City Council is now seeking its next Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation, and deliver a transformation in the planning, performance, capability and culture of the council.

The Council are seeking an engaged leader who will be a proactive partner and their primary source of expertise in the business, governance and operations of the council.

The challenges in this position will be largely related to establishing a contemporary, well-structured organisation that delivers outstanding outcomes for its community. There has been a period of uncertainty in the leadership of the organisation, and there are wide-ranging opportunities for performance improvement and organisational development.

The Council will also ask their new CEO to focus on the broad themes of:

• A renewed focus on creating a high-performing organisation that is focused on culture, efficiency, effectiveness, teamwork and connection to its community.
• The sustainable forward progression of the community and economy of the City.
• Establishment of the Warrnambool City as a leader, collaborator and partner in the region.

The council is seeking a CEO who is an outstanding leader and an experienced and well-regarded local government professional. A significant performance and culture change process is desired by the council, and they will welcome an experienced leader who models and reinforces a culture of ethics, integrity and personal accountability.
