Job description

Cowra Retirement Village is a community owned, not for profit organisation committed to providing the highest standard of care to our residents in a comfortable home like setting. 

Due to the retirement of our current CEO, we are now recruiting for our next CEO. You would be described as an inspiring leader with a growth mindset couple with strong clinical skills!

Located in the vibrant regional township of Cowra NSW; the organisation offers 84 residential beds including a 14-bed secure dementia unit and is one of the largest employers in the area with over 120 employees.

Your main responsibilities will include: 

  • Inspire a culture of care reflecting the vision, values, and mission of Cowra Retirement Village
  • Lead & manage a complex environment of aged care standards, governance systems, statutory requirements, and industrial relations within budgets
  • Lead, motivate and develop a dedicated workforce of over 100 personnel to deliver high quality care within a residence centric organisational culture.
  • Ensure all statutory obligations are met, ie ASIC 
  • Monitor and manage the physical and financial resources of the organisation to ensure a sound & sustainable future
  • Be responsible for Board reporting and ensure obligations to the board are met
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with all +
  • public and private stakeholders.
  • Oversee all business operating functions, including assets and facilities management, procurement, IT, HR, quality assurance, and document control.
  • Develop, implement, and manage quality, fit for purpose business and administration processes, systems, and policies.
  • Management of principal service & supply contracts and ensuring compliance with terms & conditions
  • Develop strong and collaborative relationships with all stakeholders to ensure strong lines of communications and resolution of issues
  • Contribution to the ongoing development of the organisation’s internal quality, audit, and risk management framework.

The successful candidate will require.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a senior management position in the Aging, Health, Disability sector or Community sector
  • Qualifications which are relevant/transferable to a senior position in the Age Care sector
  • Significant, knowledge, understanding and ideally hands on experience of the Age Care Standards
  • Demonstrated experience successfully maintaining accreditation for an organisation
  • Demonstrated experience leading best practice governance within an organisation
  • Previous profit and loss financial responsibility for a not for profit or community organisation above $5million 
  • Previous experience analysing and reporting on financial management reports
  • Previous demonstrated success in team leadership, development and change management, with measurable results in workplace culture and engagement 
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse commercial information and exercise sound judgement relating to all commercial decisions
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing business functions, including HR, ICT, business systems, insurance, and asset / facility management.
  • Impeccable relationship development/ high level emotional intelligence / contract management skills
  • Advanced Computer skills
  • Ideally experience or exposure to industry software Manad Clinical software & Complispace
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time and task management skills
  • Current National Police Clearance/NDIS Worker Screening
  • Proof of vaccination – Covid19 & Flu to meet government mandated regulations
  • Driver’s licence.
