The Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) is one of the largest specialist medical colleges in Australia and New Zealand, and the region's foremost authority on anaesthesia, pain medicine and perioperative medicine. They are responsible for training, assessing, and setting standards for all specialist anaesthetists and specialist pain medicine physicians wishing to practice in Australia and New Zealand. As a proudly bi-national college, they offer training, research, and lifelong learning programs on both sides of the Tasman, and work closely with governments, healthcare services, and communities in each country on a wide range of issues. ANZCA also plays a significant role in advancing global health.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this newly created Executive role will provide strategic technological, security and project leadership for ANZCA, leading the ICT and Projects Units to drive performance and innovation. You will establish trust and credibility through the provision of advice to the CEO, Executive Leadership team and Senior Managers, identifying opportunities to optimise business operations through technology, creating a culture of continuous improvement and customer centricity. A key focus for the role will be to lead the development and delivery of the ICT strategic priorities, ensuring the IT and Digital strategies are future-oriented and aligned with the organisation’s strategic objectives of uplifting technological capability to support the continuous professional development for the fellowship and trainee base and their educational experience with the college. This key executive role will ensure the IT function is seen both an enabler and driver across the ANZCA business, bi-nationally.
To be successful in this role, you will be highly regarded as a strategic leader with significant IT/Digital Technology experience within a large, complex, customer-focused organisation. You will be innovative in your thinking and demonstrate high levels of emotional intelligence to inspire, influence, and enhance capability across your team, and will operate as a collaborative business partner with your internal stakeholders. You are experienced in providing leadership as a change agent, leading the ANZCA’s technology strategy, execution, and operations. With a tertiary qualification in technology or business, and proven experience leading a technology services function, you will have well-developed business acumen, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to influence across the organisation.
