This client is a global university with one of the highest number of active students in Australia and a large staff, research and academic presence. With campuses around the world this university is focused on being an industry leader in all facets of Education from Academic learning with graduates to business engagement initiatives. In IT, this organisation has focused largely on improving all things security, data, infrastructure and applications across the business.

Role Summary

As the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), you will be responsible for 6 direct reports and over 15 (plus a vendor driven SOC team) in the team across Security Operations, Design, Advisory, incident response and business continuity planning and disaster recovery. As the CISO, you will be focused on providing guidance, counsel and direction on all things Information Security. A key caveat of the position is that you will be able to provide innovative, insightful security programs and solutions to the unique issues that the organisation is facing.

Key Role Responsibilities

Lead the identification of new and emerging information security threats.
Champion the IT security risks through governance and effective processes.
Promote innovative, dynamic and high performing team cohesion.

Your Background

Proven experience in leading professional, innovative teams operating in information security in a complex enterprise organisation.
Extensive knowledge and experience with the latest information security technologies and trends.
Strong understanding of the regulatory requirements that apply in the education sector including but not limited to GDPR, Critical infrastructure, PCI and ensure that the university is compliant.
Demonstrated experience to build strong relationships with the business and various internal stakeholder groups.
