Your Opportunity:
The position of Paediatric Registrar (in the role of Chief Medical Registrar) is a combined clinical, administrative and teaching role providing leadership, management and advocacy for junior medical staff by:
- Assisting the Deputy Director of Medical Services and Medical Workforce Manager in management of the junior medical workforce.
- Leading the organisation of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians' annual clinical examination, with assistance from the Medical Education Fellows.
- Providing leadership, support and advocacy for junior medical staff.
- Representing junior medical staff in hospital-wide clinical governance meetings and working groups
- Delivering medical services through participation in clinical duties at Fellow level and in accordance with the policies, practices and values of the Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service.
- Demonstrating commitment to evidence-based practice, research and quality improvement activities, including undertaking clinical audits and clinical risk management activities.
- Encouraging a learning culture through participation at all levels of teaching in the hospital and involvement in supervision and assessment of junior medical staff
- Assisting in the professional development of junior medical staff and the training of medical students.
- Assume the duties of the Medical Education Fellow during periods of leave (when required).
