Through his generous bequest, the Paul Ramsay Foundation (PRF) continues his philanthropic legacy through a shared commitment to break cycles of disadvantage in Australia. The Foundation’s work is to enable people and places experiencing disadvantage to thrive, along with ensuring the right conditions are in place for progress. PRF has the potential to lead and inspire a systemic approach to social change, strengthening the for-purpose sector; and creating beneficial social impact across Australia.
The role
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this newly created role – Chief of First Nations, provides a unique opportunity for a First Nations leader to work in a motivated team and across sectors and communities to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities to thrive and help break cycles of disadvantage.
This leadership role will be pivotal in shaping PRF’s engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities across all aspects of its work. As Chief of First Nations, you will be responsible for influencing change and driving impact within and outside of the organisation, working in collaboration with PRF’s Executive and First Nations Advisory Council. You will lead, shape and implement PRF’s First Nations Strategy and related grants, investments, communications, policy, and advocacy.
The successful applicant will have extensive for-purpose leadership experience. You will identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, bring exceptional adaptive leadership skills, possess a transformational, purpose-driven mindset, able to balance political considerations and pragmatism; importantly, with highly developed interpersonal skills you will be able to effectively develop trusted relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders.
