Organisational Overview: A leading building products company operating nationwide. Since its inception in 2010, this organisation has rapidly grown to employ over 400 professionals across multiple locations. They operate with a decentralised management approach, supported by a central group team dedicated to enhancing operational excellence and employee development.

Role Overview:
As the People & Performance Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping this organisations culture and driving organisational success through strategic HR and safety initiatives. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will collaborate closely with senior leadership and General Managers to design and implement robust people strategies that align with our business goals. Your responsibilities will encompass talent acquisition, performance management, learning and development, health & safety oversight, and fostering a high-performance culture across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive people, culture, and safety strategies aligned with company’s values and business objectives.
  • Lead workforce planning initiatives and organisational development efforts to support sustainable growth.
  • Design and refine HR processes, systems, and policies to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Drive talent acquisition efforts and enhance recruitment processes to attract and retain top talent.
  • Champion health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Oversee performance management systems and facilitate professional development opportunities.
  • Conduct culture assessments and develop engagement programs to foster a positive work environment.
  • Provide strategic advice and guidance to senior leadership on HR and safety matters.

Selection Criteria:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in senior HR and safety leadership positions.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing HR strategies and policies.
  • Knowledge of New Zealand employment laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
