About the role

We are seeking a values-driven Child and Family Case Manager who will support efforts to create environments where children and young people thrive and feel safe, valued, and empowered. This role will advocate for children and young people engaging in the service to ensure their emotional, physical, social, educational, cultural, developmental, spiritual, and legal needs are met. They will uphold the voices of children and young people and use their wisdom to enhance our services, facilities, and programs. The Child and Family Case Manager works with children, young people and parents who require or request parenting support through the delivery of evidence and strength-based support sessions focused on the development of healthy, positive parent-child interactions.

You will successfully

Adherence to the Family Violence Stream vision, mission and values and that of TSA and contributes to a collaborative approach to service delivery and improvement within the team
Works under the general direction of the Team Leaders, Specialists and the Program Manager and adheres to established work practices whilst exercising initiative and judgement where practices and direction are not clearly defined
Delivers highly effective and appropriate case management to children and young people, whilst understanding diverse experience of violence
Delivers highly effective and appropriate parenting support services to families
Assess and document the children and young people’s experience of violence and the impact it has had on the child/young person
Delivers highly effective and developmentally appropriate evidenced based support services to children and families, based on goals as identified by the parents and/or children, within their home, school, and community environments
Develops positive and effective relationships with children and families and the broader community which encourage self-determination and participation
Understands and effectively manages the delivery of community engagement and development strategies and activities. Including identifying service gaps and recommending service delivery improvements to the Senior Project Officer and State Manager
Works in partnership with local people, local agencies, schools, and local council to develop innovative ways to address community priorities and demands of children and families

This is a full-time, fixed term (1 year) from hire, located in Karratha, WA. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Case Manager Level 5 award.

You will have

Degree qualification in Social Work, Early Childhood, Counselling, Community Development, Welfare, or related field
Relevant experience in a social service environment is required
Demonstrate knowledge regarding Family and Domestic Violence and the impacts on children and young people
Demonstrate experience in delivering trauma-informed and responsive support, including delivery of educational and therapeutic programs for children and young people
Demonstrate experience working with Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and/or Culturally and Linguistically Diverse peoples
Highly developed time management skills with an ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
Competent computing skills including experience in data and record management and Microsoft Office Suite
Relevant child protection requirements are obtained for example Working with Children Check
A national police record check is required
Current ‘C’ Class Drivers License
