What you'll be doing:
A fantastic opportunity for a Child Care Worker to join the NBMLHD Team on a temporary full time basis located at Nepean Hospital, Penrith.
The Child Care Worker will work co-operatively and collaborate with all members of the child care team in all aspects of the child care program.
Your role will be to attend and contribute at staff meetings, team meetings and any other meetings as required, as well as communicate effectively and respectfully, working co-operatively to negotiate and problem solve.
You will participate in mentoring new team members and students, with positivity for helping others, treat each child with respect to any cultural, socio- economic or other differences and actively supervise children and implement a developmentally appropriate and a positive approach to guidance and discipline that supports the wellbeing of children.
The Child Care worker will develop and implement quality education and care programs for children 0-6 years and provide a caring and secure environment for all children, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere that fosters children's self-esteem.
An eligibility list may be created for future permanent full or part time and temporary full or part time vacancies.

Selection criteria to be addressed:
- A Diploma qualification which meets the criteria defined in Children’s Services Education and Care Services National Regulation 2011 and experience in an Early Childhood setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in planning, implementing and evaluating developmentally appropriate programs for children in reference to the Early Years Learning Framework.
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain detailed records of children’s learning and development, displaying a sound knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practice
- Ability to work effectively in a team, contributing effectively in a team teaching situation to provide a high quality educational program. High standard of teamwork skills with ability to engage conflict management skills and communicate effectively.
- Commitment to participate in quality improvement and assessment in children's services and ongoing professional development.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills with confidence to initiate, facilitate and maintain appropriate interactions with and between children, families, staff and other professionals and to prepare and independently prepare high quality written documentation for example programming documents, newsletter items and letters.
- Approved child protection qualification (Statement of Attainment), current first aid, emergency asthma and anaphylaxis management training or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to work unsupervised and keep to task, consistently implementing policies and procedures, displaying a high level of initiative to ensure work is completed in a timely manner.
