Starbright Early Learning is a small 40 place WA Family owned and operated early learning childcare located in Booragoon, Perth (SOR)

We are looking for a Full-Time Centre Manager (Diploma Qualified) to work for a family-owned company who are genuinely passionate about offering high quality Childcare and Education to work in a family friendly environment where;

  • The priority for our Educators is to spend valuable time engaging with all children.
  • Realistic documentation expectations. (educators are not expected to send photos daily or communicate with families using software technology)
  • Supportive management with a hands on attitude.
  • Consistency of permanent employed Educators (no on call relief agency workers)
  • Give lots of personalised support, love and attention to all children.
  • Responsible and able to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Strong positive relationships with our children & families.

  • Sound Knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards.

  • Building lasting and meaningful relationships with families so they feel informed and sure their children are receiving the best education and care in the community.

About your role:

  • To create and maintain a welcoming and inspiring environment for our children and families, whilst mentoring, and guiding a team of Educator.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day running of the service in all areas of administration (training provided), curriculum development, parent and community liaison, staff professional development and team leadership and management of staff.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of National Law, National Regulations, National Quality Standards and Early Years Learning Framework.
  • Develop and implement programs to enhance the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of young children.
  • Lead and mentor educators to achieve excellence and maintain strong professional relationships with one another.
  • Mentor and support staff and promote their professional development.
  • Work in partnership with parents and families to provide appropriate education and care for children.
  • Ensure a high level of health & safety standards are maintained at all times and supervise staff members to ensure they have the skills needed to effectively care for children.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, educators, staff and management to deliver best outcomes for families and children.
  • Ensuring policies and procedures are available, implemented, evaluated, and reviewed in conjunction with all team members on a regular basis.
  • Striving for continuous improvement through an effective self-assessment and quality improvement process.

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous experience as a Manager, 2IC, or Nominated Supervisor in an Early Childhood service or Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership role - experience preferred however not required.
  • Applicants must hold an ACECQA-approved Early Childhood Degree or Diploma in Children's Services.
  • Understanding of the application of early education best practice and regulation including the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Framework (NQF) including National Quality Standards (NQS).
  • Passion for early childhood education.
  • Current Working with Children Check & First Aid.
  • Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bright, friendly, dedicated, and energetic.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of service’s requirements of the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) system (preferred not essential).
  • Ability to lead and develop teams and to work alongside the Director.
  • Highly developed time management skills with the ability to be organised and to multi-task.
